Red Special
Por estos lares he visto a muchos guitarristas (o intento de guitarristas XD) y bueno, se me ha ocurrido escribir un poco sobre esta guitarra mítica en el rock.
Cuando Brian May (guitarrista de Queen) empezó a tomarse en serio esto de la música se vio con un dilema: Necesitaba una guitarra eléctrica que fuese barata. Por aquel tiempo lo más guay era tener una Fender o una Gibson (no ha cambiado mucho la cosa...) pero no le llegaba el dinero. Asi que decidió junto a su padre (ingeniero eléctrico) fabricar una. Después de unos cuantos meses en el garaje surgió la Red Special, una preciosa guitarra artesanal con un diseño muy característico y un tono rojizo. La madera del mástil proviene de una chimenea de caoba vieja, las pastillas las rellenó de epoxy para evitar filtrar sonidos, y los marcadores del mango son unos botones de madreperla. Desde que la fabricó no se ha separado de la Red Special, es la guitarra que se escucha en todos los discos de Queen y siempre se la llevaba a los conciertos.
Me hace gracia la gente que piensa que gastandose 600 o 900 euros en una stratocaster, una Les paul o una SG van a convertirse en rockeros de la hostia, este hombre con una guitarra hecha a mano a conseguido ser leyenda, considerado por muchisima gente el mejor guitarrista, todo un genio.
PD: No me peguéis los poseedores de fenders o gibson! XDD ya se que son grandes guitarras con un sonido inmejorableeee -
